Make a plain simple syrup by combining boiling water and sugar together, then flavor it with your favorite flavoring ingredient. Although I used plain old fake vanilla extract for my vanilla latte recipe, the more costly pure vanilla extract or even the vanilla bean would be a better choice if you can locate them.

Start with an empty cup filled with ice, just like you would with a machiatto. Preparing the drink: Brew two espresso shots and pour them over ice, then whisk in 1 cup of milk and adjust the sweetness with vanilla syrup to taste. Yum!

Making the Iced Mocha

This chocolate iced mocha is produced in a similar manner to the vanilla latte, and the key ingredient, cocoa powder, is likely already in your pantry. Simple syrup from the Vanilla recipe above is combined with a spoonful of cocoa, and you’re ready to go.
